| Our first race from Worcester on the 13/4 . 8 members sent 182 birds which were Liberated at 10.00am into alight south wind, leading the way home were W Fairhurst and Son with a velocity 1884-637 2nd R & B Smith 1883-414 3rd W & P Brown 1875-133 4th W&P Brown 1872-414.In The Two Counties Combine 7 clubs sent 887 birds,with the result being 1st C Dawson Simms Road 1906-542 2nd W Fairhurst & Son Simms Road 1891-187 3rd Barker and Hill Sankey Bridges 1888-352 4th W Fairhurst & Son Earlestown 1884-637 5th R & B Smith 1883-414 6th W & P Brown 1875-133. As a club apart from the normal nom we also run a vegetable nom members nom nom a pigeon for £1 and I go and spend the money on a supply of fruit and veg plus a bottle of speciality beer,this week won by W & P Brown. Our next race was from Cheltenham on the 20/04 . Earlier I said that we had got the locals if the pear tree involved well this was the first week for them the club had come up with the idea of a sweep stake, this being the paid a pound for a number upto 35 on the Friday night when all birds were marked I would enter 35 pigeon ring numbers to the corresponding numbers, £20 would go to the winning number and £15 would go into the pear tree social fund. on the Saturday I would do a separate result to determine the winner, Well that was the plan , anyway on to the race itself, 7 members sent 173 birds W&P Brown leading the way home this week doing 1731-901 2nd W&P Brown 1731-379 3rd R & B Smith 1724-122 4th K,J,Parkinson 1720-491 The result for The Two Counties Combine had 7 clubs sending 1211 birds to Cheltenham , Having a fantastic result were the partnership of W Fairhurst from Simms Road, taking the first six positions doing 1756-637,1755-125,1754-622,1754-119,1753-365,1753-365, well done William and Tony fantastic result. The next race from Mangotsfield on the 27/04 saw 8 members sending 233 birds, This week leading the way home taking the first four positions were R & B Smith doing 1245-311,1245-311,1245-203,1244;985,also winning this weeks vegetable nom, This was also the week for the first sweepstake all 35 ring numbers sold Bob Smith also donated a pigeon related tee shirt he brought back from the states, Clare won the sweep stake winning £20 and the tee shirt The Combine had 7 clubs sending 1261 birds taking the first four positions are R & B Smith of Earlestown doing 1245-311,1245-311,1245-203,1244,985 Fantastic racing by this partnership in 5th was P Taylor of Sankey Bridges 1239-046,6th W Fairhurst and son. The next race was from Wincanton 7 members sent 180 birds liberated at 10-45am into a fresh south west wind again leading the way home are R&B Smith taking the first 3 doing 1541-840,1541-840,1541-703, in 4th is the partnership of W&P Brown doing 1537-766, R & B Smith also won the veg nom , The sweep stake was won by our conveyor Phil Winning £20,.the winning bird was bred and raced by W & P Brown .The combine had 7 clubs sending 1141 birds in first place are the lofts of Mr & Mrs Silvester of Sankey Bridges doing 1542-138 R & B Smith of Earlestown take 2nd 3rd 4th doing 1541-840,1541-840,1541-703 in 5th and 6th are Barker & Hill of Sankey Bridges doing 1538-459,1538-320. The next race from Kingsdown saw 7 members sending 165 birds once gain taking the the first 3 places are R & B Smith doing 1564-564,1564-320,1547,180,these lads are having a cracking season todate in 4th place are W&P Brown on 1539-437 ,W& P Brown won the Vegetable nom, The Sweepstake was won by Mono winning £20 plus a pigeon related Tee shirt donated again by Bob Smith,the winning bird was also bred and raced by W & P Brown The Combine had 7 clubs sending 939 birds in 1st and 2nd place are R & B Smith Earlestown on 1564-564,1564-320 in 3rd 4th and 5th is our very hard working combine secretary J Hankey of Hindley doing 1562-033,1558-731,1556-968 and in 6th is P Taylor of Sankey Bridges on 1551-101. | a few members have got off to a good start to the season ken, putting in some good results..........we have a similar thing going every week where we have numbers which , if they correspond with the winning time you take the money each week, not a fortune but ive won it about 3 or 4 times last year and it helped pay my fees along with my half of the breeder buyer........ hope your training and preperations are coming on well....... |

| Old birds have taken a bit of a back seat this season, my fault, things have not been well lets just say well. looking forward to seeing the end of 2013. Glad the members have had some good results hope they continue pleased to see you picking up a few bob along the way , take it you have raced more this season , how syour young birds doing. +Ken |

| hi ken, i havnt got any ybs, i bred 38 this year but they were for other fanciers.....im not racing at all this season and concentrating on finnishing my garage off and putting the other loft up..........organisation is a wonderful thing eh |
