Help !!! "Big time".

I was just wondering if we have any Techno heads here      as I need help "Big time".
April the 8th is when my computor goes into melt down I believe here, as I just received a pop up that tells me my XP shuts down on my old computor then. Being of high intelligence ????    I read as much of the info in regards to my worry's that they gave me etc. Sadly I'm   I'm still in the dark    . So !!!. In plain English please, can someone tell me where am I going to be on April the
9th if all I have for security is Karpasky or Norton security type of thing etc as my back up.  

As far as I understand they are eliminating support for XP. I just got Windows 8.1. New computer. My other computer has XP. I do not expect much to happen if anything, just no updates. I use Google chrome basically but any browser should work ok. Firefox whatever.

Thank's Hal    after reading all that info I'm not on my own    I see. Customer service by Microsoft etc. Cut you of at the knees    & then let you learn to swim quick !! after they throw you over board.
