| How much does a bent keel affect a racing pigeon.
Has anyone got any champions in their loft with a bent keel.
Why do you think bent keels occur.
I've heard a few theories like vitamin deficiency, the final push getting free from the egg, and squeekers resting on the edge of a nest bowl.
Personally I never had any problems with bent keels when I used deep clay nest bowls, then I broke one and borrowed a shallow plastic one. The squeekers rested on the edge of the bowl all the time and they both had bent keels.
It may have been a coincidence but I threw the plastic bowl away. |

| I think its a lack of something either in the feeding or general make up and constitution of the yb, something affects them shortly after ringing and onwards. I think they can compete on their day, and win. However I dont think anyone would claim to have a loft full of bent keel birds up to 5 yr olds with major prizes to their credit? |

| I have no idea why lol just nature I think ...like all walks of life their are imperfections but I don't think it would effect the birds ability to compete ...I don't think it will make a bird fly off course lol |

| in my view you should be setting a standard with your pigeons, and therefore any defects should be eradicated, nothing else for it realy is there, nothing short of perfection is what is required ?. |

Excuse me sir, exactly what standards are you talking about... Cou;d it be the difference between club fed combine type mediocre type racing; or perhaps pseudo Nation...ie midland/uncombine mickey mouse stuff or proper BBC BICC NFC type Perhaps if every fancier was given instructions only proper Nat type raceing would be avalible...under union rules ---- sprint would be banned.. every bird within lofts that was outside the top 500in said Nat result to be eradicated...perhaps that might possible be the start of correct standard listings--- Your thoughts ie,,any defects to be eradicated???? who says thoughts in your head arent just personal judgements which would certainly dismiss good and bad at even percentages..... \\\good \morning Gentlemen |
