winners ..what do you do ?

winners..how long do you keep a bird after its won..i have plenty in the past with one win and i always give them another season.but what about one with two or. three wins.we try ours at stock as they deserve another chance hopefully at breeding.what do others do ?.how long. ect

I`d be scared to loose a pigeon that won 1st ray.......it might be a fluke I know, but whats the point in risking loosing a winner if you end up with plodders/homers at the end of the season...........      

suppose I might have to think about that if I win a 1st.........and that's a big IF

You belong to quite a large clan David    (Dreaming of the big win) I suspect. Your not on your own here thou. Since coming out of retirement etc     I'm zero from 4 & I'm feeling the pain      . Fortunately ??? I can still read the honour boards at the club, thou the young bucks there     I suspect think I'm over the hill type of thing. Thou I'm enjoying it all at this stage doing what I'm doing & I live in hope that like most of us, I can crack it for a win some where.

well said  its about the enjoyment mate and if a win happens to come along then great gives you a lift , dont get me wrong i want to win everyweek but theres only one winner and a lot of disapointments in this game, so enjoy it dont let them grind you down lol
but isnt it funny how you look at a pigeon once it has won for you before it was just one of your birds in the loft once won has a name and you like it all the more ,

Oh so true     it may be a chump on basket night    etc. But if it just happens to fall out of the sky on Saturday & comes in first, it becomes an instant champ with all the right features attached, that one is looking for.
