YB back after 3 weeks away...

went into loft this morning and a yb had returned from the huntingdon race 3 weeks ago, feet are muddy and lost a lot of weight but rubber still on leg...........


1 lost bird returned, only another 20 to go........

good news david a survivor one could say...they don't usually come back after that long away

no they don't Darren, ive found this season that if they don't get home on race day, I never see them again..............but on this occasion , like you say its a survivor. and another one to race as an old bird next season

yeah yer rite david I think its because of all this advice on feeding diet mixes it not substantial enough for the birds to work back on

Hi David, had one myself which was missing for 3 weeks, when she returned she looked and felt great but with muddy feet, anyway the week after i put her straight back in a race from sleaford and she topped the fed, would love to know where she had been as i would like to take the rest there for a week or two, lol,

only came back from club earlier and theres another sat on the house roof..........  

that's 2 in the same day, hope the other 18 I lost don't all come back......

thanks Darren, yes very strange eh, it was dark when I got back from the club so judging by what I can see it looks like a mealy, will be up early tomorrow to let it in......

MMMMMmmmmm being who I'm I hope they all do all turn up David etc at around one a week eventually, just to keep yuo guessing/on your toes.

even GEOFF Kirkland had birds work back which did well for him

yes it was a mealy hen who returned later in the day, it looks like its had a knock but is healing over now.......they both were lost at the same huntingdon race and both returned home on the same day a few hours apart........

A member of our club has had 8,come back last week from the last 3,races.

Was reading earlier mobile phone towers may be causing losses due to electrical interference.

First I have read of it. Must be an age thingy!

no offence hal but the phones have been causing mayhem for years, pluss the ministry over here when testing sonar, and i have no dought other places in the world, no wonder birds cant orientate correctley

PETA charged them with using pool sheets. Rick Mardis runs the Continental Breeding Station. He had no birds in the race. He was taking the birds to the release point. The other 2, AU directors also had no birds in the race. Nor did any of them pool. Long to read the url but gives one an understanding os to what lengths PETA will go. No expense spared. Funny these stories but mine is the same, I had a bird lost came back with muddy feet, following week toped the section, stopped it and was a brilliant breeder, still got it.

lost a red hen at the first race this year turned up in great order.
after 6 weeks. only thing wrong was the ets ring had gone.

Pigeons adapt to any circumstances. Cutting bands off or removing them has to be done by an ass***le.
