| how many birds are members gonna take through the winter I have 24, 12 cocks and 12 hens all racers for next year ...no stock all gone earlier this year to a new starter just kept me racers and got new blood in the form of ybs to concentrate solely on distance racing but all were trained and had 1 race and will be raced next year |

| hope so david when dad took me as a young lad to the auctions in the 50s as we walk past the birds in the the pens you could hear the comments if a bird was unflown no one wanted it ( think these were the one's dad bought lol ) come the end of the season you had so many left you had to dig a big hole also there were few cars, training was a trailer would come over easter and that was it but the birds then could win from 100-500mls there was also very little money around but the club had 140 members not like to-day |

| Well took stock today. Eye balled everything. 6 pairs of old birds going to retire. Have some late breds I want to try plus others not raced. 1 and 2 year olds. So 3 sections 8x8 10 or 12 pairs in each will race them all next year. Loft? Can replace some panels and just add boxes in the YB section. Should be good, have hydro (electricity) in there any way. Space for young birds? Will breed very few. Basically for one loft races. Will lose quite a few unraced older birds so should be enough space. Thinking that way now anyway.

| Young fella. 130 lbs few weeks ago. 2 years old next June. English mastiff. Son has the parents. Had a helluva time lifting him on the scales. I am only 175. Hope he does not get more than 150 or so. his father is 220 lbs. ahem, he does not think he is a dog. Jack Russell in the background bosses him. So far. trained dogs for attack work and stuff like that when I was younger. Alsations. this guy is just a natural protector needs very little direction. Good with kids, everything. I used to poach on the estates in the UK and these were the guys patrolling. Leave fast! No contest! |

Sad, but it's happening every where I'm afraid Rainbow. For what I see, in what you say above. Worse for us old timers I'm like me, as our memorys still allow us to remember the glory days of when distance racing was the be all of everything. ***** |
