| They've got more chance of staying if they've had s round of eggs, and have a mate. |

| I've done it before where I've clipped their primaries at the start of the season bar the last 2 and when they've grown back they usually stay. |

Sometimes best thing to do is get them paired up on chipped youngsters 2 days old then try them out may go back a couple of times but as the youngsters get bigger and more demanding they tend to stay JMO |

| Similar to what others have said restricting the flight works for me...when I want to break a bird usually a stock pigeon I wait till the moult comes and they are down to the 6th flight, then clip the last 4 or 5 flights on both wings the birds are going to moult them out in a few weeks so all good and not perminant.
But in the meantime they know they cant fly very good in the lot, so when you then open the fronts so they can go and look about they wont even try to go far, as the flights moult one by one they become stronger flying, after the few weeks it takes they are well used to being out and they will break ok. Worked for me many times. |
