| if you have a bird with a broken flight feather that you want to race , what would you do with it , you can pull the rest of the feather out so it can replace it by growing another that takes 6 weeks , or you can give it a new one , or at least extend what is left , for this you need an old feather cut it down to correct length required , get a pin push the pin into the quill of the feather and then add a spot of super glue to the pin then insert it into the broken feather of the bird hold still a few seconds till the glue takes affect , the bird is now ready to race again ,and it works I did this with a bird on a Monday , sent it to tarbes on the wedensday 728 miles on its return the feather was still intact , and re-maind there till it moulted p.s always keep some old feathers just in case |

| done something like that before, but didn't use a pin, if I remember correctly I think we spliced the quill and slid them inside each other type of thing, and super glued them......was a long time ago but it was something along those lines.. |
