Worming and ect

Hi All I have a few babies (sqaubs) ?  anyway what should I do about worming and vaccinating

vaccinate for paramyxo virus at 6 weeks old ...don't worm until about 6 months old ...some vaccinate for paratyphoid but its a waiste of time as their are so many different strains of salmonella in any case your birds don't race so it is unlikely you will encounter salmonella problems

Ive just looked it up and can get it online. so you inject it under the skin but not into the muscle

if you have not done it before I would advise letting someone with experience show you first ...belgica de weerd sell it their is a link to their site on top of the homepage...you inject into the side of the neck about half way down the neck just under the skin with the needle pointing towards the tail of the bird ...give vitamins in the water for 3 days consecutive after injection...best to have someone hold the bird and another conducts the injection

personaly i would vaccinate the youngsters as you ween them and the job is done thats what i do each year but each to their own

by waiting until 6 weeks old you can do them all together as not all will leave the nest on the same day but yes you could do them when they leave the nest some even do it when their still in the nest atb

Thank for your replies . Ill get help when im doing them. Iv put the rings on them and I was quite pleased with myself. It is all a learning curve.
