Channel racing

Is anyone racing across the Channel this weekend?
If so - from Where and how far to you?

ALSO - do any members belong to any of the big organisations - Like The BBC, National, BICC etc?

I would be very interested to know what members think of these organisations.

I wish you Shippy all the best there, along with all those others that are prepared to get their feet wet etc. For the most part when water & distance come into play, A differant type of beast is required to normal I've found, if one wishes to be successful on the day.

That's what I heard but on gmtv they said it's going to be ok .so I don't know that's why not taking any chances

If it is of any help - I have a very good friend that also races pigeons and lives in North West France.

I have just rung him and he said that it is around 16 degrees C at the moment, high cloud and great visibility. The forecast for the next few days is about the same, maybe getting a little hotter, mid to late afternoons. No rain or low cloud expected - BUT could be overcast early mornings.

phil i have just been on xc weather and saturday good in france with a s/west wind turning e/northeast over here with no rain coming up the country

durham combine have decided to go tonight for a race tomorrow from arras

we are not sending over the channel too much going on what with the French striking ...allways another race

10 at carentan 6 cocks and 4 hens 231mls would have liked another race on them but with the hold over last week that didn't happen so fingers crossed

Have got eight at Carentan 300+.

Only one has been across before and yet to make it on the day. He has however been first and third in his two channel races. Hoping that an older hen first time across the water will show
