| how many of you think that birds of prey are taking racers?now their seems to be lots more of these bird in our towns and cities as their is no places for them in the countryside.i see sparrowhawks almost daily at my place.at this time of year its only cocks and they are too small to prey on pigeons but i hav lost birds from my roof with hen birds.thankfully i dont have any cliffs near me so no peregrains but racers are at more risk than mines. |

| It's getting worse every year, I've been hit every year for 7 years apart from last year, It's getting beyond a joke now, when you say the cocks wont hit the pigeons, I dont agree even they are getting braver, they may not be able to take the bird away as it's to heavy, but they will hit them. | you should try living in west wales..unbelievable we have the densest population anywhere and thats fact, I have 3 breeding pairs 2 miles from my loft. I was thinking about it the other day our county of pembrokeshire has about 10/ 15 pairs or perigrines in it so if they take 2 prey items a day thats 40 a day minimum...then its 280 a week, and 1120 a month thats a lot of birdies and thats only perigrines we have sparrow hawks and goshawks doing much damage also. |
