whats your thoughts on training y/birds
i myself start off at around 2 miles for about a week then move on to about 11 mile next week however i pick my days has to be clear once i have done this then i will train at about 18 to 30 mile then i feel they are ready for racing
just currious on other peoples methods

that's all I do normally, take them a couple of miles down the road near the tip......I know they will have ranged further but to me it just gives them a bit of experience of coming out of the basket and coming home....when they have been there3 or 4 times I take them to around 7 miles further down the road a few times, then on to pontifract race course which is approx. 12 - 15 miles from me as many times as I can before the first race from Newark 56 miles.

I cant take them any further my self, and theres rarely any club training so I just do what I can and make do with a load of 15 milers.

i do 3 at 5 miles 4 at 12 miles and 5 at 22 miles then into first race i have to rely on the mrs to take me so i dont push it Razz

I do 4 at 15 miles then in to race make them use there heads . Dont underestimate  them cheers

I start off with 3 at 17 miles then I alternate it between 20, 25 and 30.

Sensible post David Smile Smile I believe "I do what I can do". Total waste of time having a system in place, that puts pressure on the other parts of our life as such from my perspective & the birds soon learn to adapt if they have a brain in there head Wink Wink. cheers

Start mine at 3mls a couple of times then around 7mls then 12mls up to 20mls move them on when they come straight home
