| hi guys
all my pigeons seem to leave my loft and after 10 minutes come back and either go in loft or just sit on roof.
how much food do you recommend per bird per day as I'm not sure if over or under feeding them.
they are a little under form as well so what to give to pick them up.
just flown 615 kilometres a little late.
last one came home today with broken leg. any info on helping him I would appreciate

| Paul if I get one with s broken leg I shut it in a hospital hitch for 2 weeks, by then it's always been heeled in my experience. |

| hi paul, good to see you on the forum...there are few things for a pick me up after a race, glucose being one of them, also ive seen some feed a high protein mix later that evening and the next day, obviously some don't and do other things. also we know your weather is different to ours so this may play a part in feed amounts, I think around 1 and 1/4 oz per bird should be a rough guide, dependant on the distance raced. ive always thought hungry pigeons wont fly, and also birds fed too much wont fly....... |
