| Could you all do us a big favour and work out the velocity of two pigeons in the same race?
Distance - 210.518 kilometres
Liberation time - 08:30
First bird clocked at - 11:06.59
Second bird clocked at - 11:09.18
What we want to know is the velocity of the two pigeons in metres per minute. We would use the velocity calculator on our Forum but that only works for imperial measurements.
Answers please to Phil and Hil at this address!
The reason we are asking for your help is because we have a velocity calculator on our tablet which says one thing, and our club's Chairman says something else. And we don't feel it would be right to say anything until we are sure of our facts. So your help would be gratefully appreciated!
We are happy to take as many answers as are given.

http://www.birdman.co.uk/check_your_birds_velocity.htm Yes David - as far as I can tell it only works in Miles or yards and we are looking for the modern equivalent which is metres per minute. Phil |

| Many thanks to everyone who sent answers and help.
We have now discovered WHY our calculations were different to our club's figures.
It is our fault - we had the decimal point in the wrong place!
Good luck to everyone who is racing this weekend.
Our birds are still not up at 10:35 local time. No idea why, the weather is really good all the way.
Both of us. P & H |
