| hi alan, welcome to the site.............i would have suggested ebay too but if there are none local its a big problem re delivery. when i re-started two years ago i converted a 7x5 garden shed which i still use now for stock birds, my main loft is 18x6 which i purchased off ebay and the seller delivered it for £50 which i was very happy with....... it depends on how much you are wanting to spend as some on ebay are new and include delivery and erection........ |

- Hi and welcome to the site, It all depends on your personal circumstances reference the loft your looking for but my advice is due to the cost of corn etc and birdage is to start off small and take a couple of years before getting a big loft, a couple of pairs of pigeons will soon become 8 or more and before you know it your spending a fortune, ive a small team of 12 which is just right for my pocket, dont want you getting sick in a short while and then packing in this great sport of ours, so as you say your handy try knocking up a small loft and go from there something like an 8' by 6' is ideal, just remember theres a lot of good lads on here so dont be afraid to ask advice, good luck, sorry if ive babled on a bit
good advise paul, agree 100%............a small garden shed does me well for my stock birds, especially when i fit an aviery. |

| depends on how handy you are and if you can build your own, most people can knock something decent up i would emagine and to their own requirements too..........also depends on how much money you are wanting to spend, its maybe cheaper to buy from trade counters than say b&q but even then wood isnt that cheap now....... |
