RPRA Auction Update.

2017 Young Bird Auction

October 5th, 2017


The RPRA One Loft Race 2017 Young Bird auction will run on the dedicated auction website from Thursday 12th October (4.00pm) until Sunday 22nd October.

Lots 001 to 100 – will finish at 6.00pm
Lots 101 to 200 – will finish at 6.30pm
Lots 201 to 300 – will finish at 7.00pm
Lots 301 to 400 – will finish at 7.30pm
Lots 401 to end – will finish at 8.00pm

The full detailed list of the birds being auctioned can be downloaded here. Please note that the lots will not appear on the site until the auction goes live.

You will need to register on the site to be able to bid online – just follow the detailed instructions on the Home Page. (If you registered last year you will still need to re-register due to an update to the system.) Postal bids will also be accepted, and must be received at The Reddings by first post on Friday 20th October. By registering/bidding you agree to accept and abide by the Auction Rules.

No pictures David just a brief pedigree of the birds, don is right ours is a well bred dai Evans bird, very nice to, smokey blue it says

What I have noticed looking through, most of the birds are sprint or sprint X middle distance birds with the odd distance one thrown in

Yep, 1st was a lambrecht X van reet, 2nd was a drapa, 3rd was a vandenabeele X de rauw sablon, and 4th was a hereman ceusters, quite a few of the hereman cuesters and lambrechts in the prizes, our top club flyers are scoring with the lambrechts

We have a Dai Evans pigeon we bought from Tumley lofts.

It has a fantastic pedigree (and was not cheap) - it has bred us some really good young birds. We have paired her with 2 different cocks, just to see what would happen.

We have had at least 8 babies from her and every one returned from training or racing.

Got one wrong their lofty 3rd was a catrysse bred by Colin Lloyd of Cannock one of the top fanciers in the country his catrysse top the fed from 80 mls to 500 mls  winner of 1st open NFC sainted and 7x 1st open mcc

I think the first three birds were on the landing board together, so it was down to who trapped first.......nothing to choose really between them, all good birds.

I was surprised though to find the first bird clocked was a van reet cross, did have them down for one loft racing........

12th oct auction starts, not long to go now........

3 days and rpra auction starts, will be interesting to see what our bird makes........

Just been looking at last years auction, the bird in 80th place went for £31-50, the bird in 81st same as ours went for £111-00, the bird in 82nd went for £12-00, one bird that was in 91st went for only £7-00, hope ours does well

big difference in prices roy, and not consistent with how they performed......birds must have sold because of their pedigrees or maybe how they performed overall in the hotspots and final eh.

our bird with pedigree and bred by tumley should at least make 30 - 40 pounds surely ...

will anyone be interested in any of the rpra auction birds...?

not me David, got plenty here I want to try as yearlings first
