| yes hal is quite active on here, hes a regular poster, with a lot of good info and advise etc......I think all forums go through a quiet period, especially when its breeding season, but they usually pick up once racing starts. |

| Hi Morb!! Welcome!! Just love seeing the cold and snow problems they are having in the UK! Most of my birds come from Tmak. Many years ago. Reds basically. Couple from Karl, Grizzland etc blended in years back. But basically Tmaks. Alberta Classic just about died out. Used to be a hotbed of information. Still is in the archives. This site is lively! I can spout off and make ridiculous claims and not get suspended! Same as Knackeroo. Welcome!! |

Same as Knackeroo. Welcome!! hi hal tmak had//has some very good birds for sure, you must be doing well in the races. most of mine come from a friend who helped me out when the raccoons killed everything i had in one night. i was finally getting in my groove and was breeding some good birds that did well in the one loft races then the 'coons decided to end that for me. the birds my friend gave mostly come from bob duhra or were bred from duhra stock so he set me up pretty good, plus i gathered a few here and there. |

| Bob Dhura has excellent pigeons! Tmak now imports yearly. Some pricey birds but he does his homework. Think his original red Jannssens are abou 30% of what he has now. Did you fly in Bob's one loft race? I am thinking of it. |

no i haven't, this year i'm planning to just send to the cu race and see what i've got for now. hopefully next year i'll send to a couple others. these one loft races can get real pricey in a hurry. i'm going to talk to the regina club and see if they will let me send birds when they start racing, should be a way to test my birds |

Regards. hello misty not really a young a one here just turned 53 a couple months ago. not many people into pigeons around here at all, there were a few of us at one time but older fellas have passed away now it's just a friend and myself that i know of. there are a couple racing clubs a couple hours south of me but i think their numbers are dwindling. i basically just do tosses and send to one loft races and once in a while my friend and will have a race. once the young ones are loft flying and ranging i take them on tosses, sometimes i do single toss and group tosses. i like to take them with me when i go on a road trip so they get the compass training alot. last year i tossed my young ones from 100 miles and had 2 home by the time i got home a few hours later. I'm going to try and hook up with one of clubs south of me this year and see how that goes, would sure be nice to see more young people getting into the sport but with the internet and smart phones it's not looking good |

| Club I am in has older fliers. The guy who runs it on his property is 83 or so. All manual clocking. No ets allowed. Hours drive for me one way. The old guy is Belgian. Flies widow hood cocks. 40 a week. Tops the Fed quite often. Have beat him occasionally. Said to him last year "Not wether you win or lose it is how you play the game." He just shook his head. "Why keep them if winning is not the most important thing?" Then "You pay good money to fly them. Gets expensive. I win my money back and more. If you do not everything possible to win why fly them? To see them come home? You can take them 5 miles and see that!"

| There is nothing whatsoever wrong with wanting to win and every fancier I am sure sets off originally to do so.
However, if you get no pleasure without winning there are going to be thousands of disappointed fanciers, there are not enough races to go round, even at one each. in most instances, and when you have mob flyers and those wanting to get out more than they put in at any cost you have a further problem.
No one would allow one football team to have 40 players and another eleven.
There are numerous advantages enjoyed by many within the sport but what I have always done is credit those who win on a fair playing field and consider the others with regarding the advantages.
If you send 6 pigeons to a race and another fancier sends 40 and he/she takes the first two places and you the third, you have beaten 38 of his/her pigeons, so percentage wise you are by far the best fancier.
It takes all sorts and in all sports you get SPORTS and the others.
Regards.
