had a yb return from loft fly with large gash down its side and its leg was dangling like it had no control over it ...it seemed he snapped the tendons or something or a break above the joint awful to see anyway 2 weeks later after solitary confinement the leg seems to be making a perfect recovery I am amazed I never thought in a million years that would heal ...still full of surprises gutsy liitle things they are

yes Darren, pigeons do seem to heal from injuries which look bad don't they.......I had one last week cut across its chest, doesn't look bad now.

bit of baking powder on it, it was alright lol!

Great news Darren, they have a special bond with you once you’ve nursed them back.

Like nearly all fanciers I have had pigeons with varying injuries, I have stitched them up and whilst doing so they have never flinched, so I feel they do not have the same pain threshold as humans, I have always used Germaline for any broken skin etc; and some have recovered from what would appear an impossible situation but I have always gone by, if they have the guts to get back in a state I have the responsibility to give them every chance of recovery.

Regards.
