Blackpool..

wont be long coming, whos going ?

Me and my family...actually had 2 seats spare 25 pound each but no interest what so ever. Our uncle who normally comes with us unfortunately fell down the stairs about 6 weeks ago and died . He will be greatly missed this year . RIP uncle dave

Sign of the times maybe Ray 2 empty seats etc Maybe the spin & bling is wearing off for many with Blackpool as such. End of the day thou, matters little in the big picture I suspect especially & when one looses some one close like your uncle Dave etc there    .

Sign of the times alright. I put a bus on everyear and only 3 pigeon men go and ones me lol the other my brother and the last a pigeon man who gas being going from when it first started I think. The rest are my family . South shields is a great pigeon town but as for supporting shows ect it pathetic

Sad, sad sad I would be happy just to go on the bus trip there etc Ray & forget Blackpool as such . What could be more enjoyable than a long bus trip & then trying to understand a bunch of Geordie types some what pissed to the eye balls .

We're going, Friday to Sunday, hope to pick up drinkers, feeders, maybe a basket or crate but definitely no pigeons just yet.

Might be going not sure yet if I do it will be to the syndicate lofts auction on the evening but we will see

It is well worth going to Blackpool just to attend a few auctions and spot a little bit of ????? going on, and some well inebriated parting with their money.

One event that springs to mind was when it was said a very good and well known pigeon would be in the sale, among a lot of also rans.

Unfortunately, it just happened to escape and ended up in the rafters whilst "someone" was handling it.

Was withdrawn from the sale.

Often wondered the ring number of the escapee.

Never had a bad time at the Blackpool Show.

Just enjoy it whilst you are able.

Best pair of stock I ever had I bought at Blackpool. £75 for the pair, 1st and 2nd fed in their first nest, Only one egg full in second nest which was 4th fed then the hen got out on me but the ones from this pair went on to breed some good birds including 1st fed highest velocity over 8,000 birds that day.
Yes it's a bit of a lottery but I still think a lot of winners throughout UK come from Blackpool weekend and I for one would hate to see Blackpool weekend fade away.
Fool and his money comes to mind, but same in all walks of life, but this type of event does bring fanciers together and renew and begin new friendships.
It's always good to get away for a few days in January with people and family close to you and forget about the worries and cares of modern life, look forward to the year ahead and keep your hopes and dreams alive.

None of us drink on the bus but mind you they do when they get there Haha. But not me .to boring am I. Go for the pigeon show not drink I.m afraid

Best I come & teach you the secret etc Ray even happy to supply the liquid refreshments to make the trip an enjoyable affair etc.

last went in 2014 was a great weekend but just too busy this year ,first year i have not attended a show ...always like to get to at least 1 in the year

No knackered your ok. Never been a drinker and never will lol. I.m boring so they say but I don't need it to be me and not someone else .

Never ever touched the stuff, seen too many problems with miss use, in particular in our sport at times, and on a regular basis in the news.

Nothing whatsoever wrong with drinking within limits as with most things, one mans meat etc;

Unfortunately, there are also many health problems, mental and otherwise, associated with the miss use of.

Having said that if you enjoy a drink lads, GOOD HEALTH & HAPPINESS.

I know, I know I know where your coming from etc David Well True story now Went to a real Aussie piss up of old army mates here 50 odd years as such walked in a free man type of thing but sadly by the end of the night there thou I walked out with a ring in my nose some how       & was engaged to be married to my present day other half here .

Why not I say Hal no harm there for what I see etc. Now this may some how harm my standing here some what but truth be told I haven't had a beer in well over 12 months & our new neighbour here also bought in a bottle of fine wine as a friendly type gesture & we then threw it in the bin after 6 months of just staring at it in our kitchen    .
