Like winter here this evening, only 5 degrees right now. Birds didn't fancy exercising and ate twice as much as they have been last few weeks, just shows how the cold takes their energy levels down and appetite up.
Believe it not we had a 20 degree temperature drop in just over 24 hours!
Yesterday we had every window open in the house, tonight we got the heating on.

Strange but in the coldest weather sometimes almost no food is available to the wild birds many having to travel miles to find enough food to survive, and not in the best of weather conditions.

So no food and cold ?.

But they survive year after year.

Nature has much to teach is in many ways.

Regards.

Think the hardships the wild bird have to face sorts the strong and healthy from the weak.

Many fanciers feed the weak and pay for it in the long run.

You cannot tell the good from the bad by how much they eat.

Regards.
