| thanks colin, ive birds ending today, just wondered what was happening with them ...... i just put 3 on yesterday on a 2 day auction ........i normally put 6 - 7 on in a group, so its worth the £45 + for the cost of a courier, but i just happened to have 3 ready, and couldnt make numbers up , next groups are a couple of weeks off, so just put them on cheap . one has a third bar, and handles lovely, wouldnt have minded keeping it for future stock, but cant keep them all ......... |

At those prices David why should anyone breed their own. A full young bird race team for far less than some pay for one dicky stock pigeon. No problem with dummy eggs or fighting etc: all on a plate. If I was a youngster starting up would buy 24 young birds fly them full programme and use the best as breeders on a continual basis, all open loft. Cannot understand some of the individual prices paid for untried young off so called champions. Hope rest goes well. Regards. |

| yes misty, they are going for a price cheap enough to race, cant understand some fanciers paying silly money for un tested ybs, simply because they have a piece of paper showing parentage etc .........a pedigree is only as good as the man who wrote it. the thing which bugs me, is adverts in the BHW where fanciers are advertising ybs or older birds, and not quoting what they have won, simply reeling off what the grandparents or great grandparents have done, and putting a high price on them. even if the grandparents have raced well, it doesnt necessary mean they will breed birds to win ........ i think £20 a bird is cheap enough for anyone to race . if you were starting up again misty, i would breed you some for free ........ |

Yes David when you consider the different prices paid for paper pigeons as opposed to performance pigeons with no long pedigree it seems unreal. After your kind offer of starting me up, I am going to see a specialist in rejuvination, if he can knock 50 years off my body and mental state Iwill be giving you a call. Thanks. Regards. |

| buyer phoned me this afternoon, said would it be ok if they collected them themselves, will be coming from newcastle area ......probably cheaper than a courier, plus the ybs wont be in a box for nearly two days . sounds good to me . |

theres more of us doing it after 20 years away eh colin ........ You see sometimes it's not all doom and gloom David, still needs a lot more fanciers starting up though, big ask. |

| x fanciers seems more common starting back up, than new fanciers i think colin.....i told the fellow today that i restarted 10 years ago after 20years away, i also told him that in a lot of ways i wish i hadnt, and thats true .......if i didnt have pigeons now, im pretty sure i wouldnt start back up |
