| something not right, 4 birds entered, half lost from pointless short training tosses .........sorry but hes an idiot.
if we do a syndicate next year, i think we should start looking at others in good time to ensure we get in, and also to see how its run . |

| Everyone entering a OLR will send in what they think are their best.
They also know there will be only one winner and luck will play a major part.
So the pleasure most get is seeing and following the progress their own entries make.
This can under ordinary circumstances be money well spent giving pleasue and exitement at each stage.
However, in my opinion many entries in our case have been thrown away and given little or no chance.
Tossing pigeons from a few yards from the loft is stupid.
Tossing yearlings late in the day from over 300 miles is madness as is the loft manager saying it was a good test.
But after seeing our overall sport run by a set of morons, you expect nothing more.
If you have a look in Knackerd thinking of you and yours.

| i dont think previous years have been as bad as this year, the birds seemed to get a fair crack of the whip.......but this year for some reason it seems they are being thrown away .
also it seems, the yearling final is over and done with, they got a winner, the other 70 - 80 birds missing have been wrote off and forgotten about .......... |

| If the list I have just seen is the latest we still have 3 in with a shout.
Also noticed one entry has 20 still in and two others 10 each.

| hope we have 3 still in misty......although i do think there should be a limit on the amount fanciers can enter, it makes it so some cannot enter due to all the places being taken . |

| Thanks oldstrain, why on earth do they leave old results on the RPRA site?.
Losing a third when not even flying 20 miles is absurd.
Just where on earth do these losses end up?.
Would be stupid to blame raptors for that number of losses.
Think something basically wrong with the whole set up.

| another 12 mile toss this morning ....2 still in the game ,has to be health issues at the loft for that number to be gone at this stage ,as misty says treating the ill will be treating the not ill to so we never know what effects this may cause ,not easy keeping 1500 birds mind you but i just cant understand why so many short tosses they will be ambling knowing where they are so just like a loft fly anyway at least they are moving on with the training eh |

| Agree with you oldstrain, something sadly amiss.
Think 1500 pigeons from a mixture of lofts will test any ones ability to have them all healthy, in fact an impossibility.
Also you cannot tell the carriers that show no ill effects from those that do.
But to lose nearly 500 and not even into double figure training ??????.
Just glad I enjoyed many happy years before the commercial boys took over.
With the weather all over the world going mad maybe we are missing something relative to our problems.
Just hope our two keep well away from the unhealthy ones.

| as we know, once ybs get sick they can drop like flies........and with 1.500 birds its going to be rampant through them, plus like darren says, other symptums and illnesses take over the initial yb sickness if they are not treated quickly |

| What I meant to say was. how many actually die in the loft through illness, also how many are having to be treated and then put back on the road.
Do not think we get enough information as to what goes on.
