The most disturbing matter regarding this horrible problem is it can change over night from yes to no regarding pigeon shows and is a nightmare for all involved.

Just happy the Doncaster Show went well.

One can only hope they resolve the problem soon.

Obviously many will have booked accomodation etc; used to book months in advance to be near the event.

Fingers and everything else crossed.

Regards.

Must Smile Smile be an absolute pain & frustrating I suspect, putting up with these type of issues in a pigeon sense there etc Misty. One thing after another type of thing Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes it appears these days & it would be wonderful, maybe bounce bounce if a fresh breeze could just come in & blow the whole damn lot away for ever if such a thing was remotely possible. cheers

There are now a number of #AvianInfluenza outbreaks across Great Britain. Poor biosecurity increases the risk of your birds being infected. Keeping them away from wild birds and storing their food and water undercover are 2 ways to reduce the risk.

Think it is migratory birds David.

Or it may be Borris.

Latest from DEFRA 22nd Nov.
.
No mention specifically of pigeons.

Appears to becomming more widespread, not a good sign.

Would think the same restrictions will apply to pigeons as in previous instances.

Cannot expect the RPRA to be up to date.

Sorry cannot find any clear indication of the situation regarding pigeons.

Just hope it does not spread more widely.

Regards.

See our updated list of avian influenza clinical signs to help you spot disease in your birds as early as possible. If your birds look unwell contact your vet immediately.

Housing measures to protect poultry and captive birds from avian influenza are coming into force across the UK at one minute past midnight (00:01) on 29 November 2021.
This means that, from this time, it will be a legal requirement for all bird keepers across the UK to keep their birds indoors, or where this is not practical, to take steps to separate them from wild birds.
Keeping your birds undercover away from wild birds is vital to minimise the risk of them becoming infected with avian influenza by wild birds. But housing alone is not the only solution – it remains essential that you follow strict biosecurity measures to reduce the risk of disease spreading to your birds. Read more

Think all round David we  are in for a rough Winter, not least of which is the new varient in the
virus, then the bird flue.

But I can remember feeling the same a couple of months befare Christmas last year and we
did not do too badly all round eventually.

Fingers and everything else crossed.
