The RPRA OL RULES clearly state you have to be a member of the RPRA. Then they either purchase some rings and get a fanciers to breed them some youngsters or get the fancier to transfer some of his/her youngsters to him/her. Do not think there are any limits as to where participants live. Do not think George the RPRA have any control over private one lofts. Regards. |

Hi, I'm Jon im 39 and from Withernsea East Yorkshire, I Used to help a guy with his pigeons when i was younger. I recently got the bug and decided I'm going to get my own loft ready for next season to race, my 13 year old daughter is going to be helping me and racing a few of her own all been well, I currently have a loft with 4 pairs that i was gifted to breed from that previous owners didn't want. I'm just in the process of getting a loft to race from ready for next season. A lot seems to have changed from 25 years ago when you'd catch the bird on its return and remove the rubber ring from its leg and place it in a thimble |

Have you got a club near bye and if so how many members ?. Things have certainly changed from 80 years ago and in many cases not for the better , but the sport is what you make it under existing circumstances and I am sure you will get all the help you need to enjoy the sport and a bonus if your daughter shows you how it's done the pigeons not worried how old the fancier is and the sport needs some young blood. You can be sure any member of this site will help in any way possible. All the vey best to both you and your daughter and family. Regards |

The lads i have spoken to so far have been really nice and very helpful, which is lovely for someone coming into the sport. I just can't wait to be sat in the garden on a Saturday morning waiting for them to return |

| I will have a happy daughter when she gets back from school. Mistake on my part though rings are this years, will it be too late for some young birds or do people still breed them this late in the season. |

Thought so, is that because they'd have no experience as young birds and would be competing against experienced old birds next season? |

| It's too late to breed now for this year, young bird racing starts in about 3 weeks time....unless you want to breed a few 2023 late breds to race as yearlings next year..... |
