hi phil, sorry i dont know what the protien spot is..........but i would rest the bird and feed very light gradually introducing a heavier corn so eventually it will be eating is normal food as you dont want to over do it be feeding too much/heavy too soon. maybe give glucose or honey in the water too or maybe if its very bad electrolytes. im sure others will give their opinion phil, good luck.............. Very Happy

thats right don, we all have different ideas but thats good because if one of us needs help or advise we have plenty of input and help which we can consider and make up our own minds then................i suppose all these top flyers all get there using their own methods and ideas, which are totally different to another top flyers........... strange isnt it don when you can talk to half a dozen fanciers and they all give different advise, this works for them but it doesnt necessarily work for other........when i read in the weeklys about methods and feeding its all different to what someone else does so there are no hard and fast rules/methods in pigeon keeping are they scratch
