how about telling us about old times you remember.

like one time i remember when i was a child,my dad and i basketed the birds for a training toss and put the basket in the trailer pulled the trailer up to the back of the car then mum came out and said there was a tel phone call for my dad,he went in to take the call i went in to get some sweets lol.about 15 mins latter my dad finnished his tel phone call and said to me are you ready son i said yep and jumped in the car and dad did the same.of we went to train our birds,singing to the music on the radio as we did we got to our training piont 25 miles up the road.we got out of the car went round the back of the car mmmmmm no trailer lol. we forgot to hook it on it was still in the garden back home dad still to this day cant beleave he didnt notice it was not on the back lol.

if only there was mobile phones back then mum would have called us she took the p.ss for years lol

got this one for you, not a happy one but one i will always remeber......when i was about 18/19 i was getting in to my car (recently passed my test) when a "fellow" pigeon fancier who lived about 4 doors away from me ran out of his garden with a big knife and tried to stab me !!! all because i was winning with my birds....... thats pigeon men for you.....

lol thats bad news they just dont talk to you anymore here once you win lol

its posh in selby compared to where i live mark...... they try to kill you round here if you win.....

When i was racing with my dadwhen the pigeons were about to arrive he would say to me i need a piss so i would stand by the loft until he came back to the loft

Then one saturday he needed a piss asked me to stand in his place by the loft just as i got there and he was walking through the back door he had a pigeon, in the loft i went to clock it in when coming out of the loft had 4 more pigeons through the door clock them in

My dad's chin was on the floor, that race we finished 1st,3rd,4th, 6th & 8th from 617 birds

From that day everytime my dad wanted a piss he would always use a bucket which he started to keep by the loft, but the best thing was when he was having a piss and a pigeon come and my dad went to clock it in and came out of the loft with his D### hanging out of his jeans

And i can still hear the next door neighbour saying put it away a Terry and my dad going red with embarassment

im sure we pigeon men have no shame......nothing else matters does it where the birds are concerned. if i got seen over at my loft im sure people would think im a tramp, i dont care i just have my old pigeon clothes on with holes in the knees on the trousers etc...mind you don, i havnt got as far as your dad did...... my nieghbours would stick their noses in the air and walk off thinking i was a pervert....

The problem with my dad was that he was jealoys the fact that i timed the winner in that day i replaced him at the loft

He is the reason i left the sport as we did not see eye to eye the once we were fighting in the garden just as the pigeons were arriving and it was the next door neighbour who timed in for use

you get what you deserve don, you must have deserved to time the winner in.........

The only thing i can say about my dad is he is a complete and utter wanker

im afraid we all have one in our families don, or know one.........best have as little to do with these people as possible. thats what i do anyway.....

Must say as i am not racing with him he has only won 1 first and 1 third prizecard in the ten years i have left him were before we were winning regular

when i got to the age of 18 and could legaly drink , me and dad got some beer in for the saturday race it was to be a long day as they were flying 400 miles,we sat in the garden on this nice warm summers afternoon having a beer or two or three four and it went on we got a little pissed and we both fell asleep when we woke all our birds were in the loft sitting on there perch lol,i pleased to say unlike some of the story's above all my memories are good ones makes me feel how lucky i am

yes nowadays it wouldnt matter they would have been timed in with the electronic timing system

But that is why i am putting pigeons on the back seat for the moment as i do not want to lose seeing my son grow up and also i don't want to be like my dad a complete w*****

The best one i have heared was how the pigeon trapped to win the fed, then next doors cat got the pigeon and how the dog went after the cat and the cat ran over the fence with the pigeon

we sat there one saturday and we see this bird comeing in fast and early he went straight in the trap and we timed him in lovely we had a winner for sure,of to the club as happy as two sand boys, they done the readings but the ring number wasnt on our sheet ? mmmm what the hell we thought.well when we got back and went to the loft we looked at the bird it was one we had short from two weeks prior we felt right trats

Remember many years ago, was in the garden dad was up the club collecting the clock, looked at the loft and there was a pigeon with a race rubber on got the pigeon in ran like a mad man to the club walk through the door with pigeon in box

everyone looked at me dad got the pigeon out and said this one was from the midweek race, as i looked around the club everyone had left

I still hold the record for emptying a club house in seconds
