| anyone got any tips on trying to settle in a yearling befor winter also i have a yb too just a bloke near me is packing up after 50 years and he didnt want to kill these 2 so he gave them to be to break in befor he pulls loft down .... |

| phil try them out when they are on a heavy moult they wont go far also put bath on to get them relaxed just let them sit around the garden dont rush them |

| cheers ian it just that they where the best birds in the loft ..... cock bird took 1st club from channal and yb was first bird back on the gardens this season

| I'm pretty sure there was a really good thread on this very subject quite recently - I had a look but couldn't find it though that's not untypical. Anyway there were discussions about 'soaping' wings, clipping wings, pictures of suggested ways to clip wings, keeping the bird in a basket to see other birds trap etc etc, anyway it was good - I just wish I could find it |

| it see other birds trpping and ive had it in nest box with a hen for day and while other cocks out he is out box with hen .... yb ive tryed dipping in the bath and sokeing her but she fly back to the loft ...

| think the best thing to do is keep them in for a week phil, and if you can pair the old bird up......then let them out, i know they will go back home but just go get them and keep them in a few more days and try them again...............i would keep doing this as much as possible so that when he does eventually take his loft down they should know the way back to your loft when they find it gone............. |
