ive recently been advised to pair around the first saturday in feb, which will be the 5th........then to either take all the ybs away with all the hens or to let them go back on the second round and sit for a few days and then part them....and they are on widowhood. dont know if ive got that right but its something like that

mmmmmmm, think he said to take all the ybs away with all the hens when approx 14 / 15 days old.....then i think he said the cocks are on widowhood then, but im not sure if ive got this right...ill have to ask again.

yes it was something along those lines rene, i think because they are paired up early they can be put straight onto widowhood when the ybs are weaned, unlike fanciers birds who pair up early and have to part them and then re-pair them

w/hood as any one tried hens on the w/hood ive some spare hens for next season and have a little shed with some nest boxes in there so going to try flying on w/hood and using one cock with say four hens . the hens are better to keep in condition and fly better then cocks and are more relaxed then cocks its just a little experiment for next season to see how it pans out just a bit of fun .

Kev will say if you can get it right with the hens, then you are made, from moments made from fanciers who have used this system they rate the system over the cocks

the only drawback for me with widowood is the waste of hens not being raced and just sat at home doing nothing........
