More eggs laid today...

went down the loft this morning and 2 more pairs had laid, this brings the total of pairs laid to 6 now and im expecting more eggs in the morning.......

all seem more or less settled to their box now so 19 days cant come fast enough for me...

Great news for you now mate just hope you can carm down now and enjoy your birds and just let them get on with things

have calmed down now don, its took a week or so but im finally there now...........looking forward to hatching now

11 pairs laid now so just waiting for the other 5 pairs which are in the bowls looking as though they are due to drop an egg........then im done for my one round of ybs.

oh i see mate you bred a round from your racers

yes darren, pair racers and stock all at the same time 5th feb........maybe should have pair stock earlier to get another round off them.

I counted up today and dispite having a slow start with the laying, I now have 56 eggs and 4 chicks. not bad for the first round.

Hi David, my 1998 hen laid smack on time, eggs due this week and they all look full, only 2 clear so far and thats 2 yearlings so I dont supose they have had enough practise yet, all the oldies are down and full, I have a young hen only born in september as the parents youngsters them selves were racing to it, shes paired up and laid 2 of the smallest eggs I ever seen from a pigeon, but shes small too, I hope they are full shes from my best hen.

i usually found with a pair of mine who always seemed to lay small eggs that they never hatched for some reason, dont know why.....they were yearlings last year so i wonder what they will do this year

Yes will be interesting to see if they hatch as she is so young, I supose being a small hen the eggs are in proportion to her body but still look a bit small to me.
