Hi all. I changed my food about 2 weeks ago, i was using garvo resting and have now changed to versa laga superstar plus.ic. For the 1st week there droppings went a bit loose but have firmed up now, apart from a few. The birds seem healthy and are trainng ok. Any thoughts

hi, i think whenever you change the food it usually alters the droppings for a day or so, but they come back to normal once it digests through them and they are on the new food...............mine usually go a bit watery when feeding but they havnt this year , i think its because im just feeding corn and not pellets......

ive just used 5 bags of vanroebys breeding mix to feed 22 ybs, i was suprised it used so much food to rear them but i really like the vanroebys corns and will be using the widowhood mix next when they start racing..........

tried some different ones and best i found has been bucktons breed/wean and ultimate with gtp 3 times a week and hormoform.

have got v/l start plus ic and i dont really rate it...birds always leave the pellets and im not too keen on it. so have nearly a full bag left.

the only reason why they leave certain foods is i think is over feeding
it took me a long time not to over feed now any thing i put in front of them is eaten up
right away . pellets , beans, maize , barley you name it they eat it the best thing is to get a 1oz feeding measure and stick to it .

when i change my food i do it gradualy by adding about 10 percent of the food i,m changing to everyday so in 9 or 10 days time you have a complete change of food but each to their own Very Happy Very Happy

yes, proper way to do it............but when i changed my food its because ive run out and the local corn shop havnt got the same corn in stock.............to solve this i bought enough to last me all season so im not chopping and changing during the season.

this is one worthwhile lesson ive learned.

Cant fault bucktons too though darren, is just as clean too mate...everyone has their own preference and that seems to be mine. the breed/race mix for 9 quid v/l do is alright

hi darren, i bought 2 bags for a fancier who is breeding me 12 ybs..........i though id just be decent and contribute towards the cost of feeding them for him.

he was gratefull for the corn but said its too posh for his birds as he buys it from the local farm......... lol!
