The N.E.H.U race from Melton Mowbray 21/4/2012 was won by Peel bros of South Shields, they took 1st club 1st fed, also taking 2nd and 4th club and 15 of the 25 birds clocked in the club......well done Peel brothers.

im feeding my ybs an ounce and a quarter per bird per day, im wondering if its too much because they feel fairly heavy and fat, altho they have won 2nd and 3rd in the couple of races they have had so far...........is it because they are fat they arnt winning 1st.....?
any thoughts anyone.

david could it be that the birds beating you could be very fast sprinters and no fault of your birds, are all there crops empty each morning and the droppings ok also not sure if its right to measure out food for young birds i would just say train a bit more the other thing if you have a small team then your results are fine something fanciers seem to forget

yes i think i agree with what your saying rainbow, the droppings are spot on and they are trapping ok once they have landed, it was just they feel to have weight on them, altho not too much........i suppose as the distance gets further the amount of food will help them to have more stamana maybe ???
also you are right, the race winners are sending 25-35 birds, whereas im sending 8.
