take alook at your racers that are left, and then take a longer look at your stock birds and it's here you have to be really honest with yourself

yes i agree rainbow, if the stock birds arnt breeding ybs which are any good they must go as well...........i think too many pigeon men keep stock birds for years which dont breed anything any good and still persist with trying to breed something to win something, there comes a time when you have to be honest with yourself and wake up. |

Totally agree with you David, Im a bit of a culprit for it, But have really got rid of a few this year. However I think you need to breed from stock birds youngsters, as sometimes it comes out in the grandchildren then sometimes they are worth keeping another season.

hi martyn, probably right about breeding from the stocks ybs, but im talking about pigeons which are 10 years old etc and never bred anything any good...................i think a couple of seasons breeding half a dozen out of a pair is enough to decide if they are worth keeping or not.

Yes I agree david, A couple of seasons plus breeding ffrom those youngsters should tell you if you have bred any useful birds. If not they have to go or you will never get better racers. I have lots of old birds but havent had them all there lives, cant imagine keeping a bird 10 years anyway.

the thing is, some are too quick to condemn a pigeon while others wait in vain believing it will come, to no avail
