Kev is an old hand. For a disabled guy, the new lofts have given him a new lease of life. 40 pairs paired up and 7 pairs now on eggs. I just need to pair my 12 pairs, the bull cock and his four hens. He has been at the loft till gone 9 at night. He's never been able to do that before.

The 10th mate, that's a bit rough. Are they NEHU? There is always a post strike RPRA usually send theirs out on the 23rd, if you order them direct. We've picked em up from the sorting office before today.

Cheers Alex. I could get NL rings, but I think it's cheating in some way. I breed small pigeons. I even saw someone trying to auction a pedigree off the other day, because their pigeon died. What's the world coming to.

Like anything these days mate. Who can you trust. That's why I only use tried and tested and trusted sources. I once many years ago bought a black pied hen. I gave a few pounds for it. When I got her home, I sat and studied the pedigree. There was no way, these light cheq's could have bred it. I won't mention the guys name. but I rang him up and politely told him I had been robbed. Oops, he got the pedigrees mixed up. We resolved the matter and I also got a free bird as well for my trouble. I honestly believe it was a genuine mistake. But how many fanciers actually study their pedigrees.

Im not positive these rings are authentic. Mr don/sky tx can verify but there is a ring maker in china that can make rings of any sort that look to be but are not authentic.

Personally I don't really see the point. OK like Don once said in an old post, that I was reading this afternoon. About Belgium rung pigeons, fetching more money than British rung birds. I'm inclined to believe that this is a true fact. Just the same as people are obsessed with brands of pigeons. I personally would be very dubious about such birds, unless of course they are being offered by Belgian fancier. If I have youngsters that are too big to ring so be it, they go into the stock loft. Many birds I breed for stock, I usually put an old ring on them or sometimes don't bother at all. The reason for doing so, is that I am not inclined to race them, because that would be a breeding season wasted if I was to lose them for any reason. I suppose, maybe you can buy fake rings, but what if someone places an objection against one of your birds that have won, because I have had this done on a few occasions in the past. It's just not worth it.
