Put my birds together this afternoon, will leave them aweek then split till rady for pairing for real, might have to alter one or two if they dont take to each other, its better to find out now than wait, this way i find i have no trouble when it comes to the real thing Ken

yes i like the idea ken, was going to do it last week but as you know my back has been bad......might give it a go tommorrow if i can as i have some new pairings and i think this will help them settle down and pair easier when its for real. will also be using some pairs as feeders this year i think as i prefer to breed more from my stock birds rather than untried yearlings.....

The first round of eggs from my stock are always floated under the race birds, only select a few race birds to breed from Ken

Hi Ian i use tobbaco stalks, cut down to about 4 inches, My nest bowls are wrapped in newspaper first, then a layer of shavings, on top nest felts then let the birds build the nest with the stalks Ken

used to wrap nestbowls in newspaer years ago ken, forgot all about it till youve just reminded me....put newspaper in the nestbox too and when it got too much droppings on it id just remove the paper and replace it. think we used sand as well in the bottom of the bowl as well.
