| pair my birds up today, 6 pair in the stock shed went back to their old mates, so was easy with no problems.........the other 17 pairs of stock and racers were just let loos to pick their own mates, couldnt be bothered with all the locking in boxes and selecting pairings......... so if any ybs do well racing its not down to my selections, its down to luck........ |

| Well done David, at long last. I don't like to do it that way, as it always leads to all kinds of trouble, dominant cocks bullying the others, taking more than one box. Ram raiding boxes when there's eggs in the nest. It's maybe ok, if they are all the same breed, but am not a lover of indiscriminate breeding, because you never know who has treaded what. This can be a bummer if by chance you have bred an outstanding pigeon and you cannot repeat the pairing. But each to his own as they say. Best of luck mate, hope they breed you some gooduns. |

| always chosen the pairings gary, and locked them in a box till they accept each other and guard the box........this time i couldnt be bothered to be honest, 17 pairs is the most ive ever had so just left them to it.
im only breeding one round so any that dont lay on time will be smashed, however many ybs i get thats it...thats my team. |

| I enjoy and get so much pleasure out of pairing up and breeding the birds, I'm always sad when it's all over. I should just open up a breeding station and sack the rest of it. |

| It's great, I love the character of the youngbirds as everyone is different. The colour side of it is exciting. Especially when you put say two chequers down and see the whole spectrum of colours they sometimes produce. The speed they grow is also a thing I find fascinating. Plenty of pics David. |

| ive got a few mealies and a couple of red cheqs this year, so it will be interesting to see a few different colours rather than just blues and blue cheqs............ |
