| hi birdlady, when you look at a bull eye it gives the impression it is black.....in fact this is just the light reflection on it so they say, you need to look through this black to see a normal eye underneith.....a bull eye is no better or no worse than a pearl, red or orange eye....just different, altho some fanciers do like a few bull eyes to pair to certain other types of eye.
if you click on jack barkels site at the top of our home page you will find some very helpful and interesting information. |

| Bull eye is a very dark, sometimes nutty brown, but has no distinctive alteration in colour like a normal pigeon eye, where you can see all the colours and the distinct iris. It doesn't affect the bird in any way. |

| eye colour is important in some breeds of fancy pigeons same as some racing men go on eye sign or use too not sure if this is still common with the racers

| No mate, but I think this may just be a trait of the fancy varieties. |

| thanks for the info, and that was also a very good link.
so the bird i have has 1 pearl eye,and 1 bull eye.going on the eyes i saw on that link...is it more common to have bull eyes on white birds, because i have 2 other white birds, with 1 or 2 dark feathers, and they would both seem to have bull eyes, where most all my others have orange eyes.
thanks again
