| Apologies in advance for what is probably a pointless post on here but I managed to lose my missus' hand reared pet pigeon 'Mr Squeek' in Clutton, Somerset on 11th April . This is one spoilt pigeon (he has (had) his own cushion) who although has flown more or less daily for the last four years has never gone more than a half a mile from our previous home, six miles away. We moved at the weekend and in the process of putting up a homing pen he escaped... on my watch. Not good. Been back to the old place many times and ordered to put up posters but no sign or word yet. So slightly embarrassed to ask but should any one get a small mid male grey pigeon with black wing bars and black tail, green plastic ring (afraid no details on this but looks nice apparently ) on right leg in there their loft I would be very keen to hear before he gets chucked out. To make my life worth living again I feel I should offer a reward and pick up from pretty much anywhere! 07968 994013. Cheers |

| Thanks David. Don't think there is much more I can do. We spent two hours yesterday driving around the Chew Valley calling his name out the window! |

| Hate to be a pesamist about this subject, and wish you luck in finding the bird, But as an experienced fancier I can tell you that a few miles to a tame bird would be nothing to fly, therefore if he hasnt gone back to the old place its probably dead, not having raced and experiences many raptor attacks it would be easy picking...sadly this is a sign of the times with the massive raptor problems, good luck anyway. |

| Appreciate your honesty. I did get a call today from a lady who had seen one of our posters. Apparently our bird was in her barn Thursday night/Friday am. She fed and watered him but couldn't catch him. She mentioned she though he had a cut on his neck but seem to fly ok. I suspect you were right about the raptor attack. He does have some predator awareness as a sparrow hawk got once but he got away. I suspect his luck may have run out this time but we will have another search tomorrow.
