Darkness YBs.....?

ive heard giving garlic in the drinking water kick starts the moult in darkness ybs, does anyone know if this is right....or is there any way to do this ?

Hi David, I have never done darkness before but this year Im on it, I have been on it for 2 weeks..I was told to give garlic in the water after 4 days on darkness then every other day for a week which I did, I have stopped it now and just give a bit of garlic oil on the corn..which my birds always have anyway on a monday, and the young birds are falling to bits feathers everywhere after 2 weeks, was it the garlic not sure but they are moulting rapidly.

most darkness pigeons start to moult after 2 weeks if healthy once they start they carry on if all are well a steady fall of feathers will continue baths and some oil seeds are also good at this time most important thing is get the ventilation right or you will suffer big time
they dont need the loft pitch black nore do they need 16 hours of dark 14 is plenty
