2010 Ambitions

Well here we are into 2010, whats your ambitions for this coming season (lets keep this topic alive and review at the end of the season who got near or completed their dreams/ambitions)

i will start it off

i have pulled out of the BICC and CSCFC and will be concentrating this year on the NFC races, so my aim /dream for 2010 is to be top loft in our section of the NFC (a section which comprises of 2 x 1st open NFC winners, BICC winners, CSCFC and BBC winners)

Not sure about club racing will have to eait and see what happens at agm Joined the NW Classic this season so would like to score well in the section
Also will be racing in the Bamford Gold Ring race, Would like to get a good result in this

to top the up north combine would make my year you never know somebody is going to why not me

only going to race the yb program this season which will be approx 8 - 9 races, would like to get a first in one of them at least and if possible take positions in as many as possible......

changed my mind starting with old bird racing, to see iff any are descent out of 5 left from louella van lints, 5 from harrison & hull jansens, some here have been on about gut feeling, 2 of the 5 missing 1st day out, 1 hen stayed out overnight came teatime next day blue pencil van lint and a jansen cock stayed out 2 nights settled at home couldnt make his mind up where to go home or loft, he came back straight in loft, pairing them 2 together

as i only fly in the NFC no club racing my ambition is to get
high up in the section as posible thats section D and get in as many races
as i can ive got a rather young team of two year olds and yearlings .

best of luck with the section mate, we pretty much the same as you with a young team as we only moved down here in oct 06 and started to race yb 2007. We have 4 x 2007 birds, 4 x 2008 birds and all others yearlings

but i tell you what the BUZZ on a NFC raceday is something special, even though you can really only aim for your section as the wind dictates the overall result its still special (you may get a favourable wind once a season if your lucky you gotta hope you have your team on for that day)

We only joined the NFC in 2008 and was lucky enough to finish 2nd section Fougeres and 7th section Saintes, but it was so different to club racing. in 2009 we was lucky enough to finish 5th section 1st race, 7th section 2nd race, nowere 3rd race, didnt send 4th race Tarbes (to far for inexperienced team) and managed to win 1st section Saintes 23rd open (special) and with the youngsters race bit of a smash we did record an arrival late on the day but well beaten

my only ambition this year is to fly the entire youngbird programe and have a decent number left, hopefully my new training strategy wil beat the perigrines this time, I got hit every toss last year starting to pixx me off..., and keep fewer birds, just the best.

just to have a good time flying my birds and having a good year

we had the same down here mate, training in 2007 & 2008 was a nightmare, everytime let them go in a big pack got walloped, never had this problem in north west were used to race

2009 started to train and let go in smaller groups, still had the strikes every now and again but others made it back on time and smaller losses

hi lightning mcqueen, they are realy good results you have there well done
like you say you can,t beat the buzz of NFC race day flying against the best
last two season have been a bit of a let down for me results wise ive been way down the section results
but before that from 2004 to 2006 i managed to get in the top 10 in section D 3 times , 4th , 5th , 7th section
flying from saintes, messac, and sennen cove .
last couple of years ive bought in some new blood so this coming season will be there first try at NFC racing
can,t wait speak soon . cheers kev

i want to top the mighty up north combine,it will take some doing but why not,i,ll be racing more combine races this season so you never know

i want to win it but second would be nice as well

same here ray second would do nicely but winning would be better

hope you both get 1st and 2nd........ wont say who gets what tho..... hope you both do well this coming season.

ill just try my best ian, i dont expect to tear the road up coming back into it with ybs, but at least hopefully ill try my best to give my birds a decent chance to do ok.......you never know i might get lucky.

it wont be luck david it will be down to dedication

Must say national racing is hard and can de very disappointing at times

Hope Ray and Ian get the 1st and 2nd national in which ever order
