| After my first YB season under my belt its time to look at next years racing style to keep up with the rest. Question is about darkness for my YB's next year i plan on breeding my team and buying in a team also having them around the same time give or take a couple of days !!. once these are on the system my question is would there be a cut off limit to add to these first batch of birds i.e second round YB's ?
I know every flyer is different and so are the methods they use but i would rather look for advice from those of you who have tried and tested with darkness pigeons and what you think would be good or bad for me to do
Many thanks |

| If your pair up early December you wont need to put on darkness because they will be on it naturally due to the season, other option is to read as much as you can about it online. i know some flyers are beginning to think there may be a link between darkness and YB sickness but i don't know. might want to read about the light system too. |

| i would say ybs intended for the darkness system are best put on it before end of march jmo so you would need to pair up about 7 or 8 weeks before this but as said jmo good luck m8 |

good luck m8 Try them both--Make lots of notes. Then you decide. I use the Light system. In Texas we pair up Thanksgiven day. And maybe pull he 9th & 10th flight July 4th. Don't beleave everthing you READ My pigeons can pull a Fright Train----couple them up |

| I have done the light for a few seasons and have never pulled a flight or a tail feather and never had a problem and they flew well. But I feel they have to be early bred for our yb programme over here. these this year most of mine were 3rd rounders so were extremely late, they did well I suppose, but the minute you relax with them they fell to bits. So I would say later breds is a definite NO NO |

| with early bred ones, you lock um down for a couple of weeks and plunge um into semi darkness this gives um a helping hand with the moult and only feed um light stuff. The other thing with light birds they still have most of the same feathering as yearlings and for this reason I too put them on the light to combat the moult as yearling birds. |
