i use a garlic clove in the drinkers 24/7 mon to friday, what do members think when my birds are feeding ybs ......should i leave it in, or take it out, will it harm ybs being fed by the parents ?

also, do members use cider vinegar when they have ybs in the nest ?

david, I still use cider vinegar when feeding ybs but only half of strength they normally get, so teaspoon to 2 litres when on ybs twice a week.
Also once a week, same with johnsons tonic again just half strength.

Birds dont like the garlic in the water so for me its once a week sundays, garlic on the corn and in water, the only other thing in the water 2 times a week is vinegar. the rest is fresh I was told that garlic kills some good bacteria in the gut, only some, there fore only give sunday after the race that wat the bacteria builds up again all week.
I really think anything in the water 24/7 is harmfull and no one will tell me different, give them some days off david.

i cut a full bulb across the middle pop it in the watering can fill and leave for 24 hours, this is then put in the drinkers, all year round, (changed daily ) it does help to keep the flesh the right colour, aswell as keep the parrasites in the gut at bay.
