| David,
If you don't mind me saying, I would slip them a pot egg, as you don't want them driving to long, you will lose body weight on the cocks, and the hens will get worried |

| David thats a bit drastic, dont forget tempreture is not ideal for breeding and although they are yearlings i bet they are not 12 months old yet Ken |

| If you dont like them david, dont breed from them. always go with that gut feeling and you wil find you will not go too wrong. Thats what I always have found birds that Im not keen on never make it and thats youngsters included. Last year I read bert braspenning in the BHW, and he said dare your self to take away the ones you dont fancy, because they will let you down. I can honestly say that if anyone had asked me pickout the youngsters you dont like and you think will be lost I would have been right except for 1 bird that I didnt dislike but never gave much mind to, and made it through racing. |

| yes martyn i agree with what you say.....sometimes you just know when they are no good. the pair that im talking about are such a pair, and were only going to be used as feeders but with them not laying when the donour pair layed make them no use to me now.... |

| Once this has been collected at the end of the season the pigeons that have not been in the first four look at there parents and if none of them have not shaped up then the young birds are gone
But if the old birds have not produced anything after 2 years breeding they will be gone even if they are consistent pigeons |

| As you read the comments yes it looks a hard way to be but this sport is expensive and only the best can be kept |
