I have already said this before but i would rather have 6 widowhood cocks that i can say will put everything into racing home, rather than have a team of 20 to 30 widowhood team that you hope with fingers crossed they will have a go at racing home

no not this year,i remember years ago when we flew well across the channel, people where telling us to send them as yearling, we had no experience so we took their advice and sent them.big mistake even though a few of them scored as yearlings i think we burnt them out to early.we raced them week in week out inland then sent them across the channel.now i would do it totally different if i had a channel team, every race as a yb bird ,yearlings up to say 350 then two year old 400 to 450,then 3 year old the distance.thats the trouble nowadays can we wait that long to find out if they are good enough or do we hurry them on and possible burn them outlike we did

would never get rid of a yb that had done nothing racing, would definately race it as a yearling and also try it as a two year old.....if it had not shown or done anything by this time i think as a racer its not much good.

By the time a pigeon as completed the racing season as a 2 year old, you have raced the pigeon for three years by then you know if they are going to be any good racing and also breeding

yes maybe 9 times out of ten you will be correct but you still get that gut feeling about certain pigeons and they can prove you wrong |
