If you cut the felt, to allow chimney through, you can them put felt up to chimney, and make a collar from a piece of felt and seal it with some sealer. Thats how i plan to do mine.

Yes david, but dont cut a circle in the felt for chimney to come through, score across the felt like pizza slices. then the chimney will pop through, and the felt will run up the chimney, seal it it and then put a collar around the chimney.

I just cut mine straight through the felt but its a very tight fit I used a core bit on my drill especially designed for 100 mil pipe openings from my father in law as he is a plumber and sealed around with a gutter sealant ...it was expensive but worth it ...I cut out for the 100mil pipe close to a roof timber and fixed the pipe to that timber on the inside of the loft so theirs no movement in the pipe to brak the seal exposed to the weather and pushed mesh up inside the pipe to stop any vermin coming down into the loft I then used a pronafit smoke bomb to test it ...the sealant I used does not shrink

- draw round the pipe from the roof top then cut inside the line 5 mill push your pipes in and secure from the inside with 1.1/2 x 1.1/2 timber frame then some mastic seal from the inside and round the outside then get some flash band and use round the outside about 4 inch up the pipe you will need to warm this so it sticks use a blow torch on a low flame job done
ours never leaked
you can also buy pipe flashing collars on ebay

not much with OLR you need a licence from the rpra and they hold the prize money with a test loft if no prize money they can go by club racing the rings having been transferred , not all OLR transfer the rings to there loft so the bird always belongs to the owner that is I see it but could be wrong

all so with OLR accounts have to be given to the rpra each year

| our 2016 test loft will simply be friends/members breeding our member who is running the test loft ybs to test for them......simple,
it is no different to normal club racing where a fancier buys ybs in to try, only he is getting them free from other members. |

just trying to explain George, maybe boosey was thinking of joining........ most other test/one lofts are run for profit and are run under rpra rules etc, but ours isn't about money its simply testing members ybs for them.

steve (boosey) is in the test loft for next year...their are prizes but its all done on trust and I can assure yer in good hands if any member wants to pull out they can no problem or offence taken I have allowed for a few pulling out this always happens which is why I took a few extra on...both chimneys have been fitted to the loft now and the loft itself is empty now and will be adapted with darkness shutters in due course I am also hopeful of getting a good sponsor on board...work in progress

I have managed to get a sponsor for the test loft they are paying for the vaccine some supplements I use all natural stuff and also they are donating £100 for the up-keep of the birds (corn) but I will put that £100 to the test loft for ace bird over all the races so the most consistent bird will get £100 and this will be done on a simple points basis with the first 6 birds to the loft getting points 1st 6 pts 2nd 5 pts 3rd 4pts etc...bird with most points will scoop the money ,i would like to take this opportunity to thank the management at ropa and my friend henk de brueijs for the sponsorship welcome to the ROPA TEST LOFT 2016 so it will be as follows £100 ace bird over all races £300 1st bird last race £200 2nd £100 3rd
