pigeon colour

has anyone got a prefrance for a certain colour bird ,and does anyone dislike a certain colour and for what reason ?

its not often I breed a mealy hen or a red hen , so I tend to treasure them but each to there own

our best race hen is a mealy ....blood reds are nice also like blue grizzles

I like any really, but I do prefer blues or blue pieds...

Got a red grissel thing from racers in nest at the moment..pity it's not rung because it's a beautiful bird indeed

Bit of a sucker for grizzles and reds, as most of you know , seen a couple of blacks that look nice as well, maybe for the future

I like mealys, just got a few to try next year, also a few blacks as well

My favourite colour-way is Blue, pied, white flight.  I also like grizzles, but have never owned one.

I have always disliked reds and mealies - but I don't know why, just don't like that colour - 

However - I am looking forward to changing my mind in a BIG way.  A member has offered my a couple of babies from his winning birds next year, and he has a lot of reds and mealies.

my grandfather bred a few bronze grizzles now they were something for the eye to behold not seen them for many years

yes david that's it ...some of the old marsden flint (not sure of spelling) had heavy black splash barless mealies also king of the faroes they are very nice lookers too

the Motta Lines of the Van Hee pigeons are sometimes black splashed

is it correct black splashes are cocks and brown splashes are hens...?

deffinatlley black splashes for cocks ,brown for hens I should know my main birds are motta van hee , and every year they moult the splashes get bigger and more profuse ,

I bred a pigeon in 2013, a blue with a small white dot on top of his head.....and every year the white gets bigger and more patches of it on his head, now hes a noticeable pied...also bred a yb with one white flight in its wing, when it moulted the white flight never came back, and never has done and the bird is 5 years old...
