not sure really, ive not got that far yet.....but I would imagine keep them racing until you see some sort of difference in there flying/exercising, or when they have had a few hard races etc.......

When they get to 4 years old they are slowing down for sprint racing I think.

I have stopped my best racer 2013 bred this year, he looked at me when he returned from his last race as if to say I`m not putting up with this anymore.

I did get some good results with a 5 year old this year but he did miss a season racing due to broken flights.

Observation is the key although we can all make mistakes and send them to one race too often

My friend Andy Wright fantastic sprint flyer and top class fancier last year when looking at his stock birds all old retired racers his old pied cock

Kept acting strange every time he entered the stock loft the cock would fly at him and try to get out after a few days doing this Andy let him out for a fly

1 hour 30mins later he returns lands on the loft roof and drops at the widowhood loft doors lets the cock into his old box let his fly outwith the younger cocks

morning and night sent him training this old cock beat the younger cocks home by a few minutes sent the next day same thing so Andy sent him to the race

the cock was 1st Club by 4 minutes 300+ pigeons and 5th Fed 2,000+ pigeons

Not bad for a 9 year old cock

mind you that was number 12 first prizes for that cock
