the harvest is nearly in now ,now the problems start in my kneck of the woods, i.e.vermin ,time to start putting bait down , try to keep them down if possible , I had a rat get in my stock loft early this year it is an old place but good enough for stock birds as I thought , it killed every young bird I had in the bottom boxes, just ready for moveing , I have since replaced the floor and put a battering of concreate around the floor and aviary , hope it does the trick , its a problem living in the wilds .

horrible things they are, I altered my garage a couple of years ago and knocked out all the brickwork at the front to fit a double up and over door....anyway, me being me left it open for months while I found time to finish it off, and in the mean time a couple of them moved into the garage...poisoned the two parents and found a nest of about 10 babies huddled around the dead mother, who were swiftly dealt with .

garage all sealed in again now but I`m always aware they could be lurking, trying to get in somewhere because they will always be passing through, cant let them get a foot hold or it will be hard to get rid...
