Ordered 40 but to be honest won't need that many, but I do like to keep some back for late breeds if I like what they frown in the main breeding time

40 bands ordered. 10 young to another guy, he keeps tipplers. Probably will not use 30, maybe 20. 12 pairs stock. Put them together Dec 2nd. Some eggs today.
Looking at maybe a pair from Mclaughlin lofts USA.

I have ordered 80 rings, but with the possibility for getting 20 more, if I need them.

We have a problem at the moment with a couple of our younger hens turning into Cocks - if you know what I mean.

Right now that is upsetting my breeding plans, I don't know what I can do about it.

On paper, we have some amazing breeding birds, whether they will produce anything of nay quality, who knows, but the potential is there at least.

We will have to see.

Have a great one everybody.

Always a problem Phil. However, I always found it best to leave as is. Open boxes, each pick there own. The extra cocks just make the other pairs more protective. You can always put eggs under two cocks that mate etc,. Not good for pedigrees but never had much faith in paper matings.
Would be excellent to race them with extra cocks around. Motivation. JMO.

Great advice Hal.

I might well give your ideas a try - why not!

Have a good one.

I know the feeling Redrog Smile Smile "Summat happening" Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes. I decided to take the easy path this year with my breeding etc. 2 rounds only, mate in November, finish in January as such. Slight problem Laughing Laughing Laughing 70 odd to go across this week to the race loft, with more to follow in the 2nd round Wink Wink.
