stiff oposition then darren, mind you the way you flew in those two comebacks give you an idea of how you could do next year, your birds are certainly capable of competing and winning against them arnt they......so are you going to stop some of them after a few races for next year, or fly them all until they get too bad in the moult and then stop them? i know you said you will have to race ybs natural because of other commitments so will you be racing ybs dark next year?

similar to what i was going to try and do darren, but i planned on racing this year and didnt so ive yearlings now that havnt raced so next year they will be 2 year olds and never raced. its too much to ask of them to race as 2 year olds so i might just end up using them as stock and starting with a team of about 28 ybs next season.....there is only 3 pairs of yearlings and 3 pairs of stock so thats not too many i suppose.

yes don, your right....they were well schooled by the look of it. mine only had a couple as ybs and none as yearlings, so i dont know where they would stand for racing...if they ever would. maybe do what i can regards training and just put them into the shorter races maybe....

Darren doing this with your young birds you will have a fresh team of yearling cocks which will beable to put a lot of effort in there racing as they have not had anything taken from them as youngbirds

I have had a bad start to the year and wondered if it was ok to hold my ybs back till next year, do you think this is good for them? |

my opinion is that you have to give your youngbirds the experience of racing before they become yearlings you will get the odd one that will turn out ok without racing them but in past experience the majority you loose
