| One fellow shipped 316 or so. Belgium. AS site. But another fellow informs me Frank Tasker once sent 200 plus to a National. |

| Exactly Darren - you hear about these people who won this BIG prize or won that BIG prize, but they don't tell you that the person in question sent TEN times more birds than anyone else did.
If most people send an average of 5 birds to a National race and one person sends 50 pigeons to the same race, then that one person has TEN times the chances than anyone else does, of winning big prizes.
Question - What is better a man who sent 50 birds getting first or second place or a man who sent 5 pigeons getting ALL Five birds back in the top 15 birds home?
I know which one I prefer.

| Results sell pigeons. Yes the quality pigeon can come out ahead of the flock but with young birds, seldom happens. Single/double up training helps quite a bit. Also a large geographic area of fliers. Many fliers here ship 80 to a 100 plus. However, they usually win the shorter races. Longer races drag is not usually important. But again, large shippers do keep clubs and Combines solvent. Federation here has another 300 plus miler this week. Up North Combine also, but different course. Easier. UNC also has the Big 400 next weekend. Would be 500 miles for me but not participating this year. Hoping for next year. |

| yes I agree hal, results do sell pigeons....and sometimes not all the facts are known, re birdage or the strength of the competition they fly against.
a good salesman, is not always as good a pigeon racer as portrayed... |
